Maxhit does away with the headset cup: the 440C stainless steel bearing presses straight into your head tube. That leaves room for much bigger balls, which Enduro says more than doubles load capacity over a standard headset bearing.

Highlights

  • Zero stack kit for 44mm upper / 56mm lower ID head tubes and tapered 1-1/8 to 1-1/2 steerers
  • Cupless design: the bearing presses directly into the head tube
  • 440C stainless steel angular-contact bearings with double-lip labyrinth seals
  • Filled 90% with Enduro's high-pressure waterproof grease
  • Matched 36° crown race, split compression ring, bearing cap and hidden top cap preload adjuster
  • 10.2mm total stack, black finish

Why Maxhit

Conventional headsets carry their bearings in aluminium cups. Maxhit bearings are machined entirely from 440C stainless steel and press straight into the head tube, so the bearing is the component. That frees up room for much larger balls, and Enduro says the result more than doubles load capacity compared with standard headset bearings. Double-lip labyrinth seals and a 90% fill of high-pressure waterproof grease keep sweat and weather out.

One matched 36° system

Every Maxhit headset uses a 36° inner race chamfer with a matching 36° compression ring and 36° crown race. Enduro notes that angle differences from your original headset won't affect function, as long as all the supplied parts (bearing cover, compression ring, upper and lower bearings and crown race) are used together as a set.

What's in the kit

Upper and lower Maxhit bearings, fork crown race, upper split ring (compression ring), upper bearing cap and a hidden top cap preload adjuster.

Compatibility & fit

Fits frames with a 44mm ID upper and 56mm ID lower head tube, with forks running a tapered 1-1/8 to 1-1/2 steerer. Total stack is 10.2mm: 6.5mm at the top and 3.7mm at the bottom. Headset installation is a separate workshop service, and our workshop has the press tools to fit it for you. Enduro's warranty also asks for an annual clean and re-grease by a qualified mechanic, which we can do at your next service.

Enduro covers Maxhit headsets with a Limited Lifetime Warranty against corrosion, wear and manufacturing defects, on the condition that the headset gets an annual service by a qualified mechanic: cleaned and re-greased with Enduro MAX Grease (GR-009). Skipping that service voids the cover. Damage from dirt contamination or improper installation isn't covered, and cover applies to the original owner with proof of purchase. For warranty support, return the product to Tune Cycles and we'll manage the claim with Lusty Industries, Enduro Bearings' Australian distributor.
