DT Swiss XRC310 DT 240 EXP hand-built wheelset

A DT Swiss XRC310 rim set laced 28-spoke front and rear to DT 240 EXP hubs, built by hand in our Marrickville workshop, tensioned, stress-relieved and trued before it leaves the bench. Our Pro wheel build and tubeless tape fitted are included and show as two free lines in your cart.

Before you order — what your bike decides

Wheel size — 29": read it off your tyre sidewall (700 × 40C is 700c; 27.5 × 2.1 is 650b).
Rear axle — 12 × 142 only on this wheelset: measure the inside of the dropouts.
Front axle — 12 × 100 only on this wheelset: check the fork lowers.
Rotor mount — Centre Lock only on this wheelset: check your rotors.
Cassette — Shimano HG freehub body: Shimano 11- and 12-speed road / GRX and SRAM 11-speed cassettes fit HG; SRAM 12-speed road and XPLR need XDR — not offered on this listing, ask us about the body swap.

Who it is for

For gravel and all-road riding on a disc-brake bike with big tyres — the DT Swiss XRC310 is a 30 mm-inner carbon XC rim (ASTM 3) that wants a 47 mm (1.85") gravel tyre or wider; for 32–45 mm tyres see our GR531 kits (24 mm inner).

The rider's questions

How much can it carry? Max system weight (rider, bike and gear) 120 kg — the DT Swiss XRC310 rating, the lowest-rated part of the build.
What tyres fit? 53–69 mm tyres are DT's recommended range for a 30 mm inner width; 47–52 mm and 71 mm are possible. Hookless (TSS) rims: fit tubeless or tubeless-ready tyres only, with or without a tube, and never go above the tyre's marked maximum pressure.
E-bike? DT approves the DT 240 EXP for e-bikes to 100 Nm of motor torque; above 55 Nm DT recommends the 350 Hybrid and above 100 Nm requires it — see our Hybrid and Pro 5e kits for a full-power motor.
How fast does the hub engage? 36 points of engagement — Ratchet EXP 36, 10° between clicks. The EXP 54 ratchet kit is a drop-in upgrade (sold separately).

Sold separately (shown with this kit): tubeless sealant (Muc-Off No Puncture 140 ml), RT-CL700 160 mm Centre Lock rotor, a cassette for your freehub body, tyres to suit (sizes above). Rotors: one per wheel, to match your rotor mount and your brake caliper's size range.

How we build it

Every wheel is laced by hand in Marrickville, brought up to tension evenly to the lower of the rim and hub limits (1200 N), stress-relieved and trued, then checked again before it is packed. Tubeless tape (32 mm) is fitted to the rim; DT packs its own 32 mm tape and a tubeless valve with each rim, so the valves come with the wheelset — the Pro build and tape are added to your cart automatically; add sealant and it is ready for tyres. The valve row below is only for spares.

Tune Cycles builds and fits these wheels. If you are unsure what your frame, fork or drivetrain takes, ask us before you order.

DT Swiss rims and hubs are covered for 24 months from purchase against material and manufacturing defects (dtswiss.com/en/support/warranty); riding outside the rim's ASTM category voids it. Crash damage on a carbon rim is not a warranty case, but DT's Fair-Share programme replaces a first owner's crashed carbon rim for a fixed fee instead of the full price for ten years from purchase — ask us for the current Australian fee; the claim goes through Tune Cycles and Apollo. Our build — lacing, tension and truing — carries our workmanship guarantee. Any claim comes back to Tune Cycles: bring the wheel to Marrickville or contact us with your order number and we handle it with the brand. Wear, crash damage, corrosion and incorrect fitting are not covered.
