Close-ratio 11-speed gearing for real trails

The Deore CS-M5100 in 11-42T gives you tighter steps between sprockets than a wide-range cassette, so you can hold a comfortable cadence instead of jumping past the gear you wanted. A good match for 1x and 2x mountain drivetrains where the terrain rolls rather than points straight up.

Highlights

  • 11-speed Deore cassette, 11-42T
  • Tooth progression 11-13-15-17-19-21-24-28-32-37-42T
  • Hyperglide shifting for smooth, precise changes
  • Suits front single and double MTB drivetrains

Cadence control

Shimano's Rider Tuned gear steps keep the jumps small through the middle of the block where you spend most of your time, then open up at the large end where you need the bail-out gear.

Compatibility and fit

For 11-speed Shimano mountain drivetrains. Check that your freehub body takes an 11-speed Shimano Hyperglide cassette, and that your rear derailleur's maximum sprocket capacity covers 42T. Tune Cycles can confirm compatibility with your bike.
