Aero rim, real-world braking

Campagnolo designed the 45 mm rim for aerodynamic penetration, with the biggest gains when the wind angle is between 12 and 19 degrees. AC3 (All Conditions Carbon Control) treatment on the braking track gives consistent, modular braking in the wet and dry, and the supplied red-compound pads are, by Campagnolo's figures, 40% better in the wet and 20% better in the dry.

Hubs and spokes

Black aluminium monolithic hubs run on Campagnolo's ceramic USB cup-and-cone bearings. The front uses 18 elliptical steel spokes; the rear uses 21 in Campagnolo's G3 groups-of-three pattern for balanced tension and stiffness. MoMag construction leaves the rim bed without spoke holes, so no rim tape is needed. Each wheel is hand-assembled and checked by a Campagnolo technician.

Tyres

The 19 mm internal rim takes 23, 25 and 28 mm tyres. 2-Way Fit lets you run clinchers with tubes or go tubeless, and a tubeless valve and extender are included. Tubeless set-up and cassette fitting are separate workshop services at Tune Cycles.

Rim brake only, with quick-release hubs spaced 100 mm front and 130 mm rear. Use carbon-specific brake pads such as the supplied Campagnolo red-compound pads. Pick the freehub body that matches your cassette.
