Wireless & Electronic System

The SW-M8250-R pairs with a compatible Shimano Di2 rear derailleur (such as the RD-M8250) via Bluetooth wireless. There are no E-Tube ports on the shifter body and firmware cannot be updated — initial pairing is done through the Shimano E-TUBE RIDE app using QR code scanning, or via the derailleur's pairing button on an unpaired unit. Power is supplied by two CR1632 coin cells housed in the shifter body.

Fit & Mounting

The clamp band design fits standard 22.2 mm (7/8 in) handlebar ends, making the SW-M8250-R well suited to flat-bar builds where integrated brake lever mounting is not required or desired. The three-button layout and multi-axis clamp angle can be dialled to match rider preference.
