Spank's 359 is a radially compliant alloy gravity rim built for downhill, freeride and heavy enduro, rated ASTM 5 and listed by Spank for e-bikes. Its 19 mm profile gives a little over hard hits instead of passing every one to your hands. This is the version without the Vibrocore foam core.

Building with it
Spank's build rules for the 359: an A-level build by a qualified wheelbuilder, butted spokes with a break load over 300 kg (plain-gauge spokes are not enough), flat-head external nipples only (no internal, DSN or square-drive nipples), a washer under every nipple (Spank 65-washer pack), 3-cross lacing and 120-140 kgf on the drive side. Spank publishes ERD without nipple heads, so add twice your nipple's head height.
In the box
One rim with a protective rim strip that comes off before building (it is not tubeless tape). No nipples, washers, tape or valve. Want it built? It is the rim in our hand-built Spank 359 wheelsets, laced, tensioned and trued in Marrickville.
Fit
29" wheels, 32 spoke holes, disc brake only. Tubeless-ready with 30 mm tape and a Presta valve.
Spank warrants its rims against defects in materials and workmanship when bought from an authorised seller. Any claim comes back to Tune Cycles: bring the rim to Marrickville or contact us with your order number and we handle it with Link Sports, Spank's Australian distributor. Wear, crash damage, incorrect building and commercial use are not covered.
