SILCA's Ultimate TPU Tube fixes the weak points of earlier TPU tubes: valves that detach, cores pressed into plastic, and failing joints. At less than half the size and weight of a butyl tube, you can carry two spares where one used to fit, or save 200g-plus from your wheels.

A spare you can rely on

The aluminium valve helps the tube resist heat from electric pumps, and the included valve nut keeps it rattle-free and secure. SILCA says TPU now all but matches the rolling efficiency of latex tubes or a tubeless set-up at a fraction of latex's weight.

Care and use

SILCA advises inflating with a pump rather than CO2, using plastic tyre levers only if needed, and not adding sealant inside the tube. Store it away from heat above 60°C. Rim brake users should take care on long descents, as rim heat affects any lightweight tube.

Compatibility & fit

For 700c clincher and tubeless-ready rims only; not for tubular tyres. Choose the tube by tyre width (24-43mm or 44-64mm). SILCA's guide says a valve generally suits rims about 10mm shallower than its stem length, so the 50mm suits rims up to about 40mm deep and the 70mm up to about 60mm deep.
