Shadow ES & Trail Durability

Shadow ES (Enhanced Stability) goes beyond conventional chain damping. The wedge-shaped derailleur body is engineered to deflect trail debris rather than present a flat surface to impacts — eliminating the exposed edges that catch on rocks and roots. A carbon skid plate and solid lower pulley protect the cage from ground strikes, while the wide link structure resists deformation under hard impacts. Wireless Di2 & Automatic Impact Recovery

The XTR M9250 operates entirely without shift cables or wired connections between derailleur and levers. Bluetooth LE and ANT+ wireless pairing delivers precise, repeatable electronic shifts every time. If the derailleur takes a strike on trail, the Automatic Impact Recovery function fires the motor to re-centre the cage automatically — no manual intervention needed. A single function button and SD300 diagnostic port are integrated for system management and firmware updates without an external junction box.

Customisable Shifting with E-TUBE PROJECT

Using the free Shimano E-TUBE PROJECT Cyclist app, riders can personalise shift behaviour to suit their riding style: hold-down multi-shift, click-through double-shift, or locked-out single-shift. A programmable third button allows on-the-fly derailleur micro-adjustments from the bar. Charging takes approximately one hour via the EC-DN100 charger (sold separately).
