XTR Engineering

The FH-M9010 sits at the top of Shimano's mountain bike hub range, inheriting technologies from XTR race development. Polished bearing races paired with double-contact seals minimise rolling resistance while keeping out trail debris — a balance that rewards both sprinters and endurance riders. The titanium freehub body sheds grams where it matters while resisting the cassette wear that plagues alloy alternatives.

Boost Axle Platform

The 148x12mm Boost E-Thru axle standard widens the rear hub by 6mm compared to conventional 142mm spacing. This pushes the flange outward for a stiffer, more laterally rigid wheel — a measurable advantage when sprinting out of the saddle or laying the bike over through tight corners. The thru-axle design also provides repeatable wheel alignment every time you remove and reinstall the wheel.

Compatibility & Fit

The FH-M9010 accepts Shimano 11-speed MTB cassettes via the HG spline interface. It is not compatible with 11-speed road cassettes or Micro Spline 12-speed cassettes (see FH-M9210 for Micro Spline). Brake rotor mounting is via Centre Lock (40 Nm). Spoke pattern is 32H J-bend. Designed for frames with 148mm rear axle spacing (Boost) and 12mm thru-axle dropouts.
