The BR-M9220 is the most powerful caliper in the XTR M9200 family. Its dual-diameter opposed 4-piston layout — smaller leading piston engaging first, larger trailing piston delivering full force — provides exceptional stopping power with controlled, progressive modulation. The redesigned SERVO WAVE mechanism fine-tunes lever feel without friction, while the post mount caliper body pairs with both included pad options for condition-specific performance.

Low Viscosity Mineral Oil

This kit includes Shimano's new low viscosity mineral oil, required for all XTR M9200-series brake systems. The thinner formulation flows more freely through caliper pistons, ensuring a consistent, firm bite point across all temperatures and riding conditions. Note: this fluid is not interchangeable with previous generation Shimano mineral oil — do not mix.

Compatibility & Fit

Designed for use with Shimano XTR M9200-series groupsets. Kit includes a 1000mm front hose and a 1700mm rear hose to suit trail and enduro frame geometries. Lever clamp diameter: 22.2mm. Caliper mount: post mount. Compatible rotors include Shimano RT-CL900 and RT-MT905 series (sold separately). Must be used with Shimano Low Viscosity Mineral Oil only — do not mix with standard Shimano mineral oil.
