Construction & Design
The WH-MT500 rim is 21mm tall with a 24mm internal width and a sleeve-joined construction. Spoke diameter is 2.3mm butted J-bend, with 24 spokes laced to keep the wheel responsive without sacrificing rigidity. Rim tape (24-622) is required for tyre fitting. The wheel is clincher-only — not tubeless-ready.

Rear wheel only. Axle: 142×12mm E-Thru (thru-axle). Brake mount: Centre Lock disc brake. Freehub spline: Shimano HG-M (compatible with 8/9/10-speed and MTB 11-speed cassettes). Wheel size: 29-inch (622×24C). Recommended tyre size: 29×2.00–2.35 inches (clincher). Not compatible with Shimano Micro Spline (12-speed) or SRAM XD/XDR freehubs.
