Construction

The WH-RS700-C30 uses a carbon-laminate rim structure that keeps weight low while the aluminium braking surface dissipates heat effectively under hard braking — an advantage over full-carbon rims on long descents. The 30mm rim depth (24mm at the front) offers a noticeable aerodynamic gain over shallower profiles with little added drag sensitivity in crosswinds.

Hubs & Spokes

Shimano's alloy hub shell uses well-proven cup-and-cone bearings — field-serviceable and adjustable to maintain smooth rolling over the life of the wheel. Sixteen straight-pull stainless steel spokes provide a tight, laterally stiff build appropriate for sprinting and high-power efforts.

Compatibility & Fit

Fits road frames with standard 100mm quick-release front dropouts. Designed for rim-brake bikes only — not compatible with disc-brake forks. Compatible with tubeless-ready road tyres (700c) or standard clincher tyres with an inner tube. External rim width 20.8mm; internal rim width approximately 15–16mm. Pair with the WH-RS700-C30 rear wheel (sold separately) to complete the wheelset.
