How It Works

The TL-RD11 threads into the derailleur hanger in place of the rear derailleur. The indicator arm is extended to the rim and rotated around the wheel to measure deviation at multiple points. Any misalignment is visible on the calibrated scale, allowing the mechanic to apply corrective pressure to straighten the hanger. Shimano recommends alignment within a 0–10 mm tolerance range for correct derailleur function.
