Rim & Construction

The WH-MT620 rim is constructed from aluminium with a welded joint and an asymmetric cross-section. The offset design improves spoke triangulation on the drive side — reducing spoke-tension imbalance and contributing to a more even, durable wheel build. At 19.8mm tall the rim is shallow enough to keep weight low while the wide platform keeps tyres correctly profiled under load.

Hub Technology

Shimano's cup-and-cone angular-contact hub bearings are a long-standing engineering choice that prioritises longevity and repairability. Unlike sealed cartridge systems, cup-and-cone units can be adjusted, cleaned, and regreased with standard workshop tools, keeping the wheel rolling smoothly across the life of the bike. The hub shell accepts Centre Lock rotors directly, with optional six-bolt adapters available separately.
