Why replace them together

A worn chain wears the cassette and chainring with it, so a new chain on old cogs skips and a new cassette on an old chain wears out early. Replacing them together is how Shimano intends the drivetrain to be serviced, and it keeps the shifting as sharp as the day the groupset was fitted. The rotors and pads follow the same logic: a fresh pad on a worn rotor beds in badly, and worn rotors are the usual cause of noise and fade on long descents.

Compatibility and fit

This kit is specified for a Shimano SLX M7100 / M7120 12-speed drivetrain with a direct-mount FC-M7100 or FC-M7120 crank and 4-piston BR-M7120 brakes on Centre Lock hubs. The rotor pair suits a 180 mm front / 180 mm rear setup. The two pairs of N03A-RF pads fit the 4-piston BR-M7120 caliper; if your bike runs the 2-piston BR-M7100 it takes G-type pads instead.
