SLX Performance, XTR DNA
The CS-M7100 carries Shimano's HyperGlide+ technology — originally developed for XTR M9100 — into the SLX tier. Redesigned chain plates and shift ramps guide the chain both up and down the cassette, resulting in faster and more precise shifts even when pedalling hard. The result is a cassette that punches well above its price point in real-world trail conditions.
Engineered for Durability
Beam Spider construction removes material where it isn't needed, reducing rotating mass without sacrificing rigidity. The Micro Spline freehub interface distributes load across smaller, more widely spaced splines, limiting wear on both the cassette and freehub body over time. The CS-M7100 meets Shimano's E-MTB durability standards, making it a solid choice for motor-assisted builds as well as conventional trail bikes.
Compatibility & Fit
The CS-M7100 requires a Shimano Micro Spline freehub body (not compatible with standard HG or XD driver bodies). It is designed for use with Shimano 12-speed SLX (M7100) or compatible drivetrains including DEORE M6100 and DEORE XT M8100. A 12-speed Shimano chain is required. Lock ring not included — use with a compatible Shimano 12-speed cassette lock ring.

This warranty applies to the original owner and does not cover normal wear, misuse, crash damage, or failure to follow Shimano's installation and maintenance guidelines.
