Built around Shimano's Rapidfire Plus mechanism, the SL-RS700 uses the road cable-pull ratio, so it matches Shimano 11-speed road derailleurs rather than mountain bike units. That makes it the right choice for fitness, commuter and flat bar road builds that run a road drivetrain.
Ergonomic, intuitive control
The lever shape and action are designed for easy reach from a flat bar riding position. 2-Way Release means you can change gear with an index-finger pull or a thumb push, whichever suits the moment, while Instant Release gives a snappy, accurate feel at the lever.
Compatibility & fit
- Right-hand shifter only (operates the rear derailleur). Pair with the matching left shifter for a complete 2x11 setup.
- Compatible with Shimano 11-speed road rear derailleurs (Dura-Ace, Ultegra and 105 11-speed road systems).
- Not compatible with Shimano mountain bike derailleurs or with road systems other than 11-speed.
- Designed for flat and riser handlebars.
