Wide Rim for Gravel Tyres

The 21.6mm internal rim width is optimised for modern gravel tyre volumes. Wider rims reduce tyre sidewall pinch, improve cornering stability, and allow you to run lower pressures tubeless — maximising grip and comfort on loose or mixed surfaces. The asymmetrical cross-section, borrowed from Shimano's mountain bike wheel development, further stiffens the rim laterally without adding weight.

Reliable Hub Construction

The GRX hub uses serviceable cup-and-cone angular contact bearings paired with internal grease sleeves and contact seals. This proven construction is easy to service in the field and resists ingress of water and mud — a practical advantage on long gravel days far from the workshop. The straight-pull spoke design simplifies spoke replacement and increases lateral stiffness.

Compatibility & Fit

Rear axle: 142x12mm thru-axle (E-Thru). Freehub: Shimano HG, compatible with Shimano/SRAM 10-speed and 11-speed road cassettes. Brake interface: Centre Lock (rotor not included).
