BR-RX820 Hydraulic Disc Brake Caliper

The BR-RX820 is a low-profile flat mount caliper built for Shimano's GRX 12-speed gravel groupset. Its 2-piston design includes finned L05A resin pads for enhanced heat dissipation during extended descents. The 10% wider pad clearance compared to previous generations significantly reduces brake rub and noise on rough gravel terrain. Shimano's ONE WAY BLEEDING process — using mineral oil — streamlines hydraulic maintenance with one-way oil routing and a funnel tool, so servicing is faster, cleaner, and less likely to introduce air into the system.

This is the right-hand unit providing front brake actuation (Australian standard: right lever = front brake) and 12-speed rear electronic shifting for a 2x12-speed GRX Di2 drivetrain. The lever is compatible with Shimano GRX Di2 derailleurs, Di2 battery systems, and SM-BH90-JK-SS hydraulic hose. Handlebar clamp diameter: 23.8mm / 24.2mm. The BR-RX820 caliper uses flat mount and is supplied with a bracket for 140mm or 160mm rotors (assembled for 160mm). Compatible with SM-RT800, SM-RT70, and SM-RT64 rotors (sold separately). Uses Shimano mineral oil only.
