D2 Rim Profile & Aerodynamics

The updated D2 carbon rim shape uses a wider, more rounded profile that works in harmony with 25–32 mm tyres — the tyre and rim together form a continuous aerodynamic surface. At 50 mm depth the C50 sits in the sweet spot: enough aero advantage to matter in flat and rolling terrain, while remaining manageable in crosswinds that would push deeper rims around.

Direct Engagement Freehub

Unlike conventional pawl-and-ratchet designs, Shimano's Direct Engagement mechanism maintains constant contact between the hub shell and the freehub body. Tubeless Ready
