Engineering Behind the Performance

Shimano redesigned the pivot geometry for the R9100 generation, relocating the derailleur pivot rearward and downward to position the unit closer to the chainstay. The RD-R9100-SS is an 11-speed rear derailleur designed for Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 groupsets and compatible 11-speed road drivetrains. It accepts cassettes up to 30T (low sprocket maximum 25–30T, top sprocket maximum 11–14T) with a total capacity of 35T and a maximum front chainring difference of 16T. Mounting is via Shimano direct attachment (not traditional B-bolt). Compatible with Shimano 11-speed HG road chains and standard Shimano 11-speed road shifters.
