Why replace them together

A worn chain wears the cassette and chainrings with it, so a new chain on old cogs skips and a new cassette on an old chain wears out early. Replacing all three at once is how Shimano intends a HYPERGLIDE+ drivetrain to be serviced, and it keeps the shifting as sharp as the day the groupset was fitted. The rotors and pads follow the same logic: a fresh pad on a worn rotor beds in badly, and worn rotors are the usual cause of noise and fade on long descents.

Compatibility and fit

This kit is specified for a Shimano Dura-Ace R9200 12-speed drivetrain with an FC-R9200 crankset in the 52-36T combination, ST-R9270 Di2 Dual Control levers and BR-R9270 hydraulic disc calipers on Centre Lock hubs. The cassette fits Shimano 11-speed and 12-speed road freehub bodies. The rotor pair suits a 160 mm front / 140 mm rear setup, and both use an internal-serration lockring fitted with a cassette lockring tool. The two pairs of pads cover the front and rear calipers; the hoods fit ST-R9270-L and ST-R9270-R.
