Unlike single-sided systems that double one leg's reading, the FC-R9200-P measures actual force from each crank arm independently using bonded strain gauges integrated into the aluminium arms. Active temperature compensation ensures readings stay accurate whether you're climbing in the summer heat or descending in cold mountain air. Data is transmitted with every crank rotation so your head unit always has the freshest numbers.

Force Vector Analysis

Paired with Shimano's Connect Lab platform, the FC-R9200-P provides Force Vector data — the direction and magnitude of pedalling force captured at 12 discrete points throughout each full rotation. This gives coaches and self-coached riders a granular picture of pedal stroke efficiency, dead spots, and left/right imbalance that simple wattage readouts can't reveal.

HOLLOWTECH II Construction

Shimano's HOLLOWTECH II technology forges the right crank arm and 24 mm spindle as a single hollow unit, eliminating the traditional axle-to-arm interface and saving significant weight while improving torsional stiffness. The outboard bearing system positions the bearings as far apart as possible for better load distribution, resulting in a more stable pedalling platform and more efficient power transfer at every watt.

Compatibility & Fit

Designed for 2×12-speed Dura-Ace (R9200) and Ultegra (R8100) drivetrains. Compatible front derailleurs: FD-R9250, FD-R8150. Bottom bracket options: BB-R9100 (threaded) or SM-BB92-41B (press-fit). Requires a minimum 10 mm clearance between the left crank arm and the chainstay. The 110 mm asymmetric BCD accepts Shimano 12-speed road chainrings only. Confirm your frame's bottom bracket shell type and chainstay clearance before ordering.
