The WH-M8120 rim is shaped from aluminium and optimised for tubeless use, with a 34.7mm external width and 19.8mm rim height. The offset rim bed moves the spoke holes toward the hub flanges to equalise spoke tension across both sides — a feature Shimano calls their "zero-dish" approach — producing a more durable wheel that holds true longer under repeated trail impacts. Spokes are 28 double-butted J-bend units laced to a sealed Centrelock hub, keeping the build light without compromising durability.
