Power and control

The BR-M8220 caliper uses a four-piston, dual-diameter design and updated seals for strong, repeatable stopping with steady deceleration. Matched to the SERVO WAVE lever, the power curve builds smoothly through the lever pull rather than grabbing all at once, giving you control on steep, technical descents.

Set up to suit you

The alloy BL-M8200 lever offers tool-free reach adjust and free-stroke adjust so you can tune lever position and engagement without tools. It is I-SPEC EV compatible, letting you mount a matching shifter or dropper remote directly to the brake clamp for a tidy cockpit.

Consistent in all conditions

Low-viscosity Shimano mineral oil keeps the bite point stable as temperatures change, while the one-way bleed system and revised bleed port make maintenance tidier. Finned pads help shed heat on long descents.

Compatibility & fit

This is the right-hand lever, which in the standard Australian setup operates the front brake. It is a post-mount caliper supplied without an adapter, so select the correct mount adapter for your fork and rotor size. The lever ships with a 1000 mm SM-BH90-SBM hose suited to a front installation. Supplied with finned resin pads; metal pads are also available separately. Rotor sold separately. Use only Shimano mineral oil – never DOT fluid.

Shimano components are covered by a manufacturer's warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty does not cover normal wear (including brake pads), damage from crashes, improper installation or servicing, or use of non-Shimano fluid (always use Shimano mineral oil, never DOT).
