The BL-M8200 has been reshaped around the human hand, with a closer pivot point that follows the natural arc of your fore finger. The result is a powerful pull with consistent lever feel and modulation, giving you precise control when the trail gets demanding.

SERVO WAVE and low viscosity oil

Redesigned SERVO WAVE optimises the power curve and manages pad-to-rotor friction throughout the lever pull for better balanced braking. Shimano's low viscosity mineral oil keeps power consistent over a wider range of temperatures, so the brake feels the same first run or last.

Easy set-up and adjustment

Tool-free reach adjust lets you position the lever for your hand size, while free-stroke adjustment lets you tune where the brake engages. I-Spec EV mounting keeps the cockpit tidy by clamping the lever and a compatible shifter on a single band.

Compatibility & fit

This is the right-hand lever. In the standard Australian setup the right lever operates the front brake. It pairs with the Deore XT BR-M8200 caliper for a weight-conscious cross-country build, or the BR-M8220 four-piston caliper for higher-power enduro use. It uses Shimano low viscosity mineral oil only and mounts via I-Spec EV to a compatible Shimano shifter. Sold as a single lever; bleed and set-up by a qualified mechanic is recommended.
