Wireless Di2 Shifting

The ST-R9270 uses Shimano's wireless Di2 technology, transmitting gear change signals without the need for wiring between the levers and derailleurs. This delivers a cleaner, lighter cockpit and eliminates cable management complexity. Wired Di2 connectivity is also supported for e-bike applications via the EW-SD300 port. The R9200 lever body features a raised hood peak and longer hood body for improved hand support in multiple riding positions. Higher, slightly inwardly inclined lever horns increase handlebar clearance and improve ergonomics in the drops. Larger, more widely spaced shift buttons support confident operation with winter gloves. The CFRP lever blade keeps weight to a minimum while maintaining stiffness under hard braking.

Compatibility & Fit

The ST-R9270 left lever is designed for 2×12-speed Shimano road Di2 systems. It is compatible with Shimano 105 Di2 (R8150) and DURA-ACE Di2 (R9250/R9270) front and rear derailleurs. The hydraulic circuit is compatible with BR-R9270 and BR-R8170 disc brake calipers. Hose kits SM-BH90-J-SSR and SM-BH90-JK-SSR are compatible. Handlebar clamp diameter: 23.8–24.2 mm. Hydraulic fluid: Shimano Mineral Oil only. Per Australian convention, the left lever controls the rear brake.
