The Shimano CUES SL-U8000 is the right-hand Rapidfire Plus shifter that drives your rear gears across the 11-speed CUES range. It bolts straight onto an I-SPEC II brake lever for a clean, decluttered cockpit, and the optical gear display keeps your current gear in view so you always know where you are in the range.

Rapidfire Plus pairs Instant Release and 2-Way Release so gear changes happen without delay and from whatever hand position suits you. The lever shape is optimised for a light action, which keeps shifting easy on longer rides and rough terrain.

A tidier cockpit

This is the I-SPEC II version, so the shifter clamps directly to a compatible I-SPEC II brake lever rather than taking up its own bar space. The result is a cleaner setup with fewer clamps and more room for your grips.

Stay on top of your gear

The optical gear display gives you a clear, mechanical readout of the gear you are in, which helps you plan shifts before climbs and pick the right gear out of corners.

Compatibility & fit

Right-hand shifter for the rear derailleur, 11-speed, compatible with Shimano LINKGLIDE drivetrains only (CUES components cannot be mixed with HYPERGLIDE/HYPERGLIDE+ kit). Mounts via I-SPEC II to a compatible Shimano brake lever; it does not fit I-SPEC, I-SPEC A/B or stand-alone bar clamps. Supplied with a Shimano OPTISLICK (OT-SP41) inner shift cable. On an Australian setup the right lever sits with the front brake; shifting is independent of which brake a lever operates.
