Electronic System

The ST-R7170 operates exclusively on wireless Di2 — it does not support wired shifting. A single SD300 port is included for firmware updates and diagnostics via E-TUBE PROJECT. Two CR1632 batteries per lever power the wireless signal, with no satellite shifter port on this model.

Hydraulic Braking

The integrated hydraulic brake system works with the Shimano Flat Mount BR-R7170 caliper (sold separately). The design delivers low-profile, high-power braking that is ideal for road geometry frames and complements disc-specific 105 framesets.

Compatibility & Fit

Designed for 2x12-speed Shimano 105 R7100 Di2 drivetrains. Right-hand lever only — controls rear shifting and front (right) brake (note: Australian convention is right lever = front brake). Compatible with Shimano Flat Mount hydraulic disc brake calipers. Requires Shimano mineral oil. Wireless pairing with FD-R7150 front derailleur and RD-R7150 rear derailleur. Not compatible with mechanical cable-pull systems or wired Di2 drivetrains.
