Design & Technology

The ST-R7000 inherits the internal architecture introduced with Ultegra R8000, scaled to the 105 tier. The shift mechanism uses robust internals borrowed from Shimano's mountain bike technology, resulting in a positive, predictable shift feel even under load. The brake lever integrates Shimano's SLR-EV design for smooth, powerful rim brake actuation with a natural progressive feel. The lever hood is shaped for comfort both on the hoods and in the drops.

Build & Finish

The lever body is finished in black and pairs seamlessly with the full Shimano 105 R7000 groupset. It is sold individually as the right-hand lever (controlling the rear derailleur and front brake in Australian standard setup — right lever to front brake). The included Optislick shift cable is pre-fitted and ready to route straight to your rear derailleur.

Compatibility & Fit

Compatible with Shimano 11-speed road drivetrains using mechanical cable actuation. Designed for use with rim brake callipers — this is not a hydraulic disc brake lever. Handlebar clamp diameter: 23.8–24.2mm (standard road drop bar). Works with Shimano 11-speed cassettes, rear derailleurs, and front derailleurs across the 105, Ultegra, and Dura-Ace R-series groupsets. Not compatible with 10-speed or 12-speed systems.
