Built for steep mountains and uphill racing, the Scope Artech 2 weighs just 965g a set, which Scope calls the lightest wheelset available. High lateral stiffness means that saving doesn't cost you anything when you stand up and sprint for the summit.

Built for the climbs

The Artech 2 is Scope's answer for the steepest roads and uphill races. The low 22mm profile keeps weight to a minimum, and the 23mm internal width gives 28mm tyres a well-supported shape for a good balance of rolling resistance and comfort without compromising durability.

Artech rim technology

Scope shapes the Artech rim with its Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics (AEA) process, which calculates the most aerodynamic profile for the rim. A textured Aeroscales surface creates velocity streaks across the rim that stabilise the airflow and reduce drag, and Scope's Local Reinforcement lay-up adds carbon layers only around the spoke holes, saving weight without giving up strength or stiffness.

3D-printed hubs and Diamond Ratchet SL

The Artech hub shell is a bone-like structure produced through topology optimisation and 3D printed from Scalmalloy. Inside, the Diamond Ratchet SL engagement is made from titanium with a diamond-like carbon coating for direct engagement, improved durability and a significant weight saving. The wheels are laced with Scope's Carbonlite Aerospokes, whose aerodynamic shape cuts drag while their high lateral stiffness sharpens acceleration and climbing.

Compatibility & fit

Built on 12 x 100mm front and 12 x 142mm rear thru-axle hubs for disc brake frames and forks with Centre Lock disc brake rotors (rotors not included). Choose the freehub body that matches your cassette. Scope optimises the hooked, tubeless-ready rim for 28mm tyres and states it works with clincher and tubeless tyres. Wheel set-up, tyre fitting and cassette installation are separate Tune Cycles workshop services and are not included.
