Black VP clipless MTB pedals with an alloy body and a 9/16" thread. Clipless pedals hold your shoe to the pedal through a cleat, which keeps your foot in position on rough ground and lets you pull as well as push.

The alloy body is stiffer and harder-wearing than a plastic one while still keeping the weight down.

These have a 9/16" axle thread, the standard for three-piece cranks, which almost every adult bike and most better kids' and BMX bikes use. They won't fit a one-piece crank, which takes 1/2" pedals, unless you add a thread adaptor.

To fit, grease the pedal threads, start each pedal by hand so it doesn't cross-thread, then tighten it with a pedal spanner or the hex key it takes. The left pedal has a reverse thread, so it tightens anticlockwise.
