The alloy body is stiffer and harder-wearing than a plastic one while still keeping the weight down. Sealed bearings keep water and grit out, so the pedals spin smoothly for longer with less maintenance. The pedals take Look Keo compatible cleats, and a set of red float cleats is included.

These have a 9/16" axle thread, the standard for three-piece cranks, which almost every adult bike and most better kids' and BMX bikes use. They won't fit a one-piece crank, which takes 1/2" pedals, unless you add a thread adaptor.

To fit, grease the pedal threads, start each pedal by hand so it doesn't cross-thread, then tighten it with a pedal spanner or the hex key it takes. The left pedal has a reverse thread, so it tightens anticlockwise.
