The Rekon Race tread

The Rekon Race is Maxxis's semi-slick XC race tyre, with the lowest-profile tread in its cross-country range. It is at its best on dry XC trails and short-track courses, and Maxxis lists it for the front or the rear.

Dual Compound and EXO

Dual compound is the longer-lasting of the two Rekon Race rubber options Maxxis offers. The 60 TPI EXO casing is the more durable Rekon Race casing, which Maxxis suits to general XC use.

Compatibility & fit

Fits 29-inch rims (ETRTO 61-622). Maxxis says its 2.40" Rekon Race sizes are optimised for rims with a 30 mm internal width. It is tubeless ready, so you can run it tubeless with sealant on a tubeless-ready rim and valve, or fit a tube. Check frame and fork clearance first. Fitting and tubeless set-up are separate workshop services our Sydney workshop can handle.
