The new FR1500 rim profile takes a fresh approach to balancing weight and strength. Impact resistance is improved over the previous generation through optimised wall geometry, while the overall rim weight has been brought down — a meaningful improvement when you're pushing 40km/h through rock gardens. The 30mm inner width seats modern 2.4"–2.6" DH rubber confidently, and the hooked tubeless-ready profile provides a secure bead under hard impacts.

The 240 hub is DT Swiss' most decorated downhill component. Ratchet EXP brings reduced part count, a straight spring for more direct engagement, and wider bearing spacing for longer bearing life — all critical in the abuse of DH racing. Front spoke count drops to 28H for quicker handling response, while the rear retains 32H for maximum strength under braking loads.
