Shimano Deore CS-M4100-10 cassette, 10-speed, 11-42T

The widest 10-speed range in Shimano's Deore cassette line short of the 46T, the CS-M4100-10 gives you a 42T bailout gear for steep climbing while keeping smooth HG shifting through the rest of the block. A lightweight sprocket carrier keeps the weight in check at the large end.

Highlights

• 10-speed Deore cassette, 11-42T
• Sprockets: 11-13-15-18-21-24-28-32-37-42T
• Lightweight sprocket carrier
• Smooth, precise HYPERGLIDE shifting

Range where you need it

Tight steps at the small end keep road and fireroad cadence comfortable; the jumps open out at the bottom, where the priority is getting up the climb rather than fine-tuning your cadence.

Compatibility and fit

Shimano 10-speed mountain drivetrains, on a standard HG freehub body. Your rear derailleur must be rated for a 42T largest sprocket, which not every 10-speed derailleur is, so check before ordering. Run it with a Shimano 10-speed chain. Fitting a 10-speed cassette to an 11-speed freehub body requires a spacer behind the cassette. Ask us if you are not sure what your derailleur will handle.
