Construction

The platform is 6061-T6 aluminium with 17-4PH stainless wings on a forged SCM 435 chromoly spindle. An Igus LL-glide inner bearing and an Enduro cartridge outer bearing run behind the double seal system, with a slotted endcap. Crankbrothers sets no rider weight limit.

Cleats & float

The supplied Standard Release cleats give 6° of float with a 15° or 20° release angle, depending on how they are fitted. Crankbrothers also offers Easy Release cleats with a more forgiving 10° release. Crankbrothers does not approve third-party cleats with its pedals: using them can shorten pedal life and voids the pedal warranty.

Care & servicing

Crankbrothers recommends a seasonal re-grease of the internals, with refresh kits (new bearings, seals and hardware) available for a full overhaul, and advises against pressure-washing at close range. Our Marrickville workshop can service your pedals or fit them for you; fitting is a separate workshop service.

Compatibility & fit

Crankbrothers pedals take Crankbrothers cleats only; SPD cleats won't work. Any MTB or gravel shoe with a recessed two-hole cleat box is compatible, and Crankbrothers notes that third-party shoes may need shims or traction pads to fine-tune the shoe-to-pedal interface. Pedals are left- and right-side specific: the left spindle has a grooved flange and the right a flat one. Installation needs an 8mm hex wrench and grease.
