The Mallet Trail fills the gap between Crankbrothers' minimal Candy and the bigger Mallet E: enough platform to support your foot on rough trails and gravel roads, without the bulk of a gravity pedal.

Trail-ready clip-in

The eggbeater-style mechanism takes a cleat from any of four sides, which makes clipping in quick after a dab and helps the pedal clear mud. A 78mm x 74mm aluminium body gives your shoe something to rest on, and the two pins per side add bite when the trail gets rough.

Cleats & set-up

Supplied with Crankbrothers brass Standard Release cleats (6° float, 15° / 20° release) and mounting hardware, with customisable float and release angle. Crankbrothers states that third-party cleats are not approved for its pedals and void the pedal warranty.

Compatibility & fit

Works with MTB or gravel shoes that have a recessed two-hole cleat box; with other brands' shoes Crankbrothers suggests shims or traction pads may be needed. SPD cleats are not compatible. The pedals are threaded left and right like any standard pedal and install with an 8mm hex key. Tune Cycles' workshop can fit and service your pedals; fitting is a separate workshop service and is not included in the price.
