The Mallet DH wraps Crankbrothers' 4-sided clip-in mechanism in the brand's largest pedal platform, so gravity riders get the security of being clipped in with the kind of support underfoot usually found on a flat pedal. Crankbrothers rates it at 13% more surface area than the Mallet Enduro.

Built for gravity

The concave platform contacts your shoe's outsole for stability, while the 8mm pins and ribbed body keep a foot planted if you unclip mid-section. Crankbrothers notes ten consecutive years of Elite DH World Championship winners riding the Mallet DH.

Cleats & set-up

Each pair comes with Crankbrothers brass Standard Release cleats (6° float, 15° / 20° release) and mounting hardware, so float and release angle can be set to suit your riding. Crankbrothers states that third-party cleats are not approved for its pedals and void the pedal warranty.

Compatibility & fit

Works with MTB or gravel shoes that have a recessed two-hole cleat box. With other brands' shoes Crankbrothers suggests shims or traction pads may be needed to fine-tune the fit. SPD cleats are not compatible. The pedals are threaded left and right like any standard pedal and install with an 8mm hex key. Tune Cycles' workshop can fit and service your pedals; fitting is a separate workshop service and is not included in the price.
