Pedal pins give a flat pedal its grip. They wear down and get knocked out on rocks and ledges, and replacing them brings the grip back without buying new pedals.

Check the thread and length of your pedal's existing pins before ordering, so the new ones match.

To fit, clean out the old pin's thread, add a drop of thread locker if the pin doesn't come with it, and screw the new pin in firmly with the right key. Don't overtighten: a stripped thread in the pedal body is hard to fix. Pins are sharp, so take care handling them. It's worth keeping a few spares in the toolbox.
