The LL Chain Wear Tool checks both linear wear (stretch) and lateral wear, CNC-machined from billet for accuracy that laser-cut gauges can't match.

Highlights

  • Locates both sides of the roller in a V-notch to find the roller centre regardless of roller diameter — accounting for the larger rollers on SRAM's flat-top chains
  • Lateral wear check: pinch the chain against the boss, held vertical, and read the sag
  • CNC-machined from billet, held to tolerances Abbey states as tight as roughly 0.005mm

How it's read

Linear wear lines the roller up against one of five holes on the opposite end. For lateral wear, check the chain off the bike; Abbey Bike Tools states anything below a reading of 6 on their scale isn't shifting well and a new chain will improve shifting quality.

Compatibility & fit
