An open bore adapter, also called a drift, is what stops a bearing press from bearing down on the wrong race. Each drift has a smaller step that sits inside the bearing's bore and a larger face that matches its outside diameter, so the press load goes through the outer race only.

Compatibility & fit
Match the drift's option value to the bearing's part number or outside diameter before pressing — Wheels Manufacturing publishes the exact bearing each size installs (see the table above). Most sizes use a 3/8" ACME threaded rod and a PRESS-1 or PRESS-4 handle (sold separately); the 6900 and 6901 Small sizes are drilled for a quick release skewer or M5 bolt and use PRESS-2.
Wheels Manufacturing backs this product with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of purchase, and accepts returns of unused, unopened stock within 30 days of purchase. For warranty support, return the product to Tune Cycles and we’ll manage the claim with Wheels Manufacturing’s Australian distributor.
