Tannus Armour sits between your tyre and inner tube and protects the tube with 15 mm of multi-cell foam. Tannus says it stops around 90% of common flats. This size fits 700 x 28-34c tyres (ETRTO (28-34)-622).

How it works

Armour is made from Aither, Tannus's patented foam-like polymer. It sits under the tyre and over the tube, shielding the tube from sharp objects and debris and cushioning hard hits to the rim. The reinforced side wings help protect against sidewall cuts from sharp rocks. If you do puncture, Tannus says you can ride a short distance on the Armour without hurting the rim, avoiding rough terrain on the way home.

Pressure and set-up

Armour is designed for use with an inner tube only. Tannus recommends against running it tubeless or with sealant, and suggests cleaning any old sealant out of the tyre first. Start 0.1-0.5 bar lower than your usual pressure and adjust to feel. With some tyres the side wings need trimming slightly with scissors so they don't fold inwards during fitting. Compatibility & fit

Fits all tyres in the 700 x 28-34c range (ETRTO (28-34)-622). Use a 700 x 20-25c (ETRTO (20-25)-622) inner tube (not included) on a rim with an inner width of 16-25 mm, as listed by Tannus.
