What it is

This is the splined driver body that your cassette mounts onto and that transfers your pedalling force into the rear wheel. It is the OE part for SRAM's 900 rear hub and ships complete with bearings, so a tired, notched or noisy driver can be replaced as a single unit.

XDR driver with XD cross-compatibility

The driver uses SRAM's XDR (XD Road) interface, which is 1.85mm longer than the mountain-bike XD standard. That lets it run 11- and 12-speed XD/XDR cassettes that start as small as a 10-tooth sprocket. To fit a shorter XD cassette, install the supplied spacer behind the cassette.

Double Time engagement

The 900 hub uses SRAM's Double Time mechanism, which alternates two sets of pawls so engagement points are picked up more frequently for reliable, consistent drive.
