Repeat after SILCA: that pedal wrench is not a hammer. Pro mechanics carry a machinist hammer, and most have gone titanium to save weight in the tool case. SILCA's version is 3D printed in hardened titanium with a shot-filled head for more impact and no bounce.

Highlights

  • 3D printed in hardened 6/4 titanium
  • Hollow head filled with 125 g of stainless steel shot
  • Dead blow: higher impact energy than a solid titanium head, with no recoil
  • Hard titanium face on one side, medium-hard rubber face on the other
  • 135 g head, 160 g total

Dead blow head

Filling the hollow titanium head with stainless steel shot gives the hammer more impact energy than a solid titanium head of the same size and stops it rebounding off the work, so each blow goes where you aim it.

Two faces

Use the hard titanium face for general work, and switch to the medium-hard rubber face on delicate surfaces.

Compatibility & fit

A general workshop hammer for bike mechanics; light enough for a travel or race tool case.
