Design & Construction

The BR-M9100 caliper is machined from a single cold-forged aluminium block — Shimano's MONO-BODY design eliminates the flex inherent in multi-piece calipers, translating more lever input directly into stopping force. Paired with a banjo-less SM-BH90-SS high-pressure hose, the system minimises fluid volume changes under load for a firm, consistent lever feel. The BL-M9100 lever blade is shaped for a natural two-finger grip and includes tool-assisted reach adjustment so riders of all hand sizes can dial in their contact point.

Pad & Rotor Compatibility

This kit includes K02Ti resin pads without fin — the preferred compound for dry, dusty XC race courses where modulation and light weight matter most. The BR-M9100 caliper accepts 140mm, 160mm, and 180mm rotors via a post-mount adapter (not included). Compatible rotors include the Shimano RT-MT900 series. Rotor not included.

Compatibility & Fit

The BL-M9100 lever uses a 22.2mm clamp band (standard MTB bar diameter). It is compatible with I-SPEC EV integrated clamps for use alongside Shimano XTR, XT, and SLX 12-speed shift levers. Brake fluid: Shimano Mineral Oil only — do not use DOT fluid. This is the rear brake set with a left lever and 1700mm hose. Post-mount caliper — IS mount requires a separate adapter.
