Rim & Spoke Construction
The 700c alloy rim measures 24mm deep with a 20.8mm external width and 15mm internal width (622×15C), a profile that strikes a balance between aerodynamic efficiency and lateral stiffness. The 20 straight-pull bladed, butted (2.0–1.8–2.0mm) stainless steel spokes are laced to keep the wheel light and precise under load. The offset rim design evens out spoke tension between the drive and non-drive sides, improving durability and trueness over time.
Hub & Freehub
The rear hub uses cup and cone bearings with Shimano's digital adjustment system, allowing for fine-tuned bearing preload and long service life. The steel Shimano HG freehub body is 11-speed compatible out of the box, and an included spacer allows use with 9- and 10-speed cassettes. The hub accepts a standard 10×130mm quick-release axle.
Compatibility & Fit
Designed for standard road frames with a 130mm rear spacing. Suits 700c (622mm) clincher or tubeless tyres in sizes 23–32mm wide. Rim brake only — not compatible with disc brake frames. Freehub is Shimano HG spline (road); not compatible with XD, XDR, or Micro Spline drivers. Tubeless valve stems included.
Shimano provides a 2-year warranty on the WH-RS500 wheel against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of original purchase. Normal wear items (including tubeless tape and decals) are not covered. For warranty support, return the item to Tune Cycles.
