Rim & Spoke Detail

The welded aluminium rim runs a 30mm internal width — ideal for modern trail tyres in the 2.25–2.60in range — while the offset lacing geometry equalises tension across the 28 double-butted spokes, reducing the stress concentration that causes broken spokes on asymmetric designs. Rim height is 19.8mm, keeping weight low without sacrificing stiffness on rough terrain.

Hub Technology

The XT rear hub uses a labyrinth seal combined with a contact seal to keep grit and moisture out of the bearings, extending service intervals significantly over open-bearing designs. The 12mm E-Thru axle threads directly into the frame's rear dropout, eliminating wheel flex during hard pedalling and braking. The Micro Spline freehub accepts Shimano's 12-speed cassettes featuring a 10-tooth smallest sprocket for tighter gear ratios and a longer chain life.

Compatibility & Fit

Fits frames with 148mm Boost rear spacing and a 12mm thru-axle. Centre Lock disc rotor required (sold separately). Micro Spline freehub is compatible with Shimano 12-speed MTB cassettes (CS-M8100 / CS-M7100 and equivalents). Recommended tyre width: 27.5 x 2.25–2.60in. Rim tape must be fitted before tubeless setup.
