Construction

The WH-R8170-C36-TL uses 24 straight-pull bladed stainless steel spokes front and rear, arranged in Shimano's OPTBAL asymmetric lacing pattern at the rear to equalise spoke tension across both flanges. The carbon rims feature a hooked bead wall and arrive with tubeless rim tape and valve stems included, so you can run a tubeless setup immediately.
