Ergonomics & Control

Shimano developed the R8025 series specifically to address the ergonomic needs of riders whose hands don't suit a standard-reach lever. The lever body sits closer to the bar, reducing the reach required to operate both the brake and shift paddle. The result is more secure lever grip in all conditions and less hand fatigue on longer rides — all while retaining the polished shifting quality the Ultegra groupset is known for.

Compatibility & Fit

This is the left-hand lever only, operating the front derailleur (2-speed) and rear brake (Australian setup: left lever = rear brake). Compatible with Shimano Ultegra BR-R8070 hydraulic disc brake callipers and flat mount disc frames and forks. Uses Shimano mineral oil (not DOT fluid). Shift cable outer: OT-SP41 with polymer-coated inner cable. Fits standard 23.8–24.2 mm drop bar clamp diameter. Sold as a single lever — matched right-hand lever sold separately.
